Mission Bay, San Francisco, CAKCA Engineers has provided engineering consultation, utility analyses, land acquisition mapping, surveying, cost estimating and design services on this 313 acre downtown project since 1982. In a unique collaborative process, the major land holder, Catellus Development Corporation joined with the city's Planning Department in the late 1980's to cooperatively plan this award-winning project. KCA has been engaged by both parties at various times to provide planning and civil engineering services. Under a different Catellus management team, we engaged in a second, ultimately successful entitlement effort, in the mid- to late 1990's. This effort resulted in the inclusion of UCSF as a development partner in the project . Construction of infrastructure and development of user sites commenced in 2000.
